About Me:

Shortly after my graduation from Gazi University School of Medicine, I bid farewell to Ankara, the city I had lived in a little more than a quarter-century. I moved to the States to pursue a career in pathology, and further developed a genuine interest in oncologic pathology of the urinary tract and male genital system, particularly in kidney tumors. I currently hold an academic faculty position at Albany Medical Center in the state of New York. As long as my work and my family with my two little active kids permit, I like spending my time listening to history podcasts and running (usually doing both at the same time).

During this adventure, I have been trying my best to continuously connect with Turkish medical students/colleagues and have met exceptional individuals in the process. My initial intention in this connection was to share my experience as a Turkish medical professional in the United States, although I now realize how this interaction has also become an invaluable source of support for my self-improvement. Society of Turkish American Physicians (STAP) is the highest level of such interaction. STAP offers a unique medium to me and to all our members where our minds and different skillsets facilitate personal development.
